How Eco-PUL™ is made

Eco-PUL™ starts with lightweight polyester interlock (knit) fabric. The polyester interlock is paired with TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), a thin stretchy plastic film. These two components are bonded together into a single fabric using a combination of heat, pressure, and adhesive.

In the past, a solvent-based adhesive was used to produce PUL fabric. However, the volatile organic compounds in the adhesive were not good for the environment, or for the workers making the fabric.

Eco-PUL™ is made with a wet cure adhesive that is solvent-free and environmentally friendly. Some people have called this newer type of PUL "TPU."

Eco-PUL™ is made in the USA. Available at Diaper Sewing Supplies in27 standard colors and dozens of designer prints.
